AUXILIARY NURSE & MIDWIVES (ANM)

ANM stands for Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery. It is a diploma course with focus on the study of health care of various individuals. It also teaches about how to take care of equipment, setting up of Operation Theater, provide medication timely to patient and maintain records. ANM is a two year diploma course

  • Be a registered nurse.
  • Approved by OF HEALTH, MEDICAL EDUCATION & FAMILY WELFARE, GOVERNMENT OF JHARKHAND
  • Recognized by Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi
  • Affiliated to Jharkhand Nurses Registration Council
  • Duration of Course 2 yearsyears including internship as per INC norms
  • Medium of Instruction Hindi/ English
  • Eligibility minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of class XII Any stream
  • Selection procedure Written Examination and Interview basis
  • Age Limit Minimum 15- 35 years

Guideline for internship :


  • The ANM students (in a group of 4-5) should be posted in the sub center/primary health centers with a regular ANM for one month/4 weeks for supervised independent practical in the community which should be residential.
  • The student should participate in all National Health and Family Welfare programs during their clinical experience.
